Hey everyone!
So sorry I was late with my blog post this week. Life gets a little crazy at times, as I'm sure ya'll know. Anyway... I was just thinkin about birthdays. The cake. Pin the tail on the donkey. Friends. Blowing out the candles.... Birthday parties as children were FUN! Remember when you were a little kid, and you wished for a pony, or a new toy or a sunny day for the rodeo? Wishes sure change when you grow up... Or do they...? Thinking about birthday wishes got me thinking of prayer. How often do we actually pray for someone else? How often do we take the time to ask God to help our friends and family in distress? Do we still ask God for "toys" or some other type of reward? I'm ashamed to admit I've asked God for one too many ponies when I should have noticed the sad look on my best friend's face, and prayed for her sick family member instead.
Its easy to think of ourselves. Its easy to ask God to meet our needs. But really, we should be praying on other's behalves as well...
